Dia De Los Muertos
PROJECT BRIEF
This case study was established to create an engaging and on brand marketing material for the Dia De Los Muertos Celebration in Mexico City, Mexico for 2021. The guidelines for this case study were to create 2 printed deliverables of different finish sizes that effectively communicated what the event was and to create excitement and engagement with the Dia De Los Muertos holiday. It was important to put all information in Spanish first, since this was an event for Mexico, and then translated in English as a secondary language

SKETCH
My initial concept was to create an accordion fold mailer with a folded size of 5x7in. that replicated papel picado, a traditional Mexican decorative craft on one side, and information about how Dia De Los Muertos was celebrated in culture. Within the accordion fold would be a pocket that held a 11x17 poster as well as tickets and other information about the event. This accordion fold would then fit in to an envelope that met post office regulations and could be sent out to people who purchase tickets for the event.

FILE SET UP
The file prepress had to be measured, precise and perfect as this was a complicated fold that had to fit into a die cut sleeve. The accordion fold was printing on #110 cover stock to ensure rigidity so the end user could put it on display in their home. The colorful papel picado included a spot gloss finish.
